TKDK x New Era x Street Fighter

Regular visitors will know we love Tokidoki here at LITKL.  You might also know I'm a New Era fan.  You might not know that I've been a Street Fighter fan since the time when arcades were dominated by two sounds: "Daaytonaaa" and elephants trumpeting.

So when I saw the TKDK x New Era x Street Fighter collection available in the Birmingham Flagship store, I knew I had to get some new snapbacks!

The first one features one of my old school favourites - Zangief (and his apperance in Wreck It Ralph was awesome!), bending a Tokidoki brand girder.  It's also features Ken and one of the Royal Pride and some of the classic TKDK icons.

The second cap, and probably my favourite of the two, is this E.Honda sushi design! I love the cute faces on the Maki Rolls (reminds me of Sushi Go!).

Both caps feature the same underbill with TKDK characters facing off against some Street Fighter icons (I especially like that Sagat makes an appearance):

Both caps feature the logo for the collaboration on the back:

I'm really pleased to have been able to pick these two designs up from the Flagship store!

Birmingham Chinese Quarter Snack Attack

It's always worth checking out Chinese Supermarkets/Grocery Stores; they are one of the best value places to get East Asian snacks here in the UK!

Our nearest shop is the Day In Supermarket in Birmingham's Chinese Quarter. We always pop in when we are in that part of the city - here's what we picked up last time!

First up was an old favourite - Koala no March! This giant box contains 10 small packets - perfect for snacking on the go! It's the B+W type - cocoa biscuit with a white milky filling.

Next were some special flavour Oreos - Green Tea Ice Cream and Orange & Mango! We'd had the Orange & Mango ones before, but the Green Tea Ice Cream ones were new to us - it's a pretty mellow green tea, not too overpowering, so it's good even if you don't normally like that flavour.

I love BlackBlack chewing gum - nothing tastes quite like it; and it's impossible to describe!

We picked up a couple of packs of Puccho - cola and ramune flavours.  These chews include extra chewy bits and extra 'fizzy' bits inside!

Then there were soft-centred ramune chewing gum from Coris. There are three chewing gums in the pack - but one of them is hiding a super sour version!

We'd had these Choco Heim wafers from Korea before at Café Twist - we got both White Hazelnut and Choco Hazelnut varieties.  Each box contains 6 wafers.

In the UK we have Choc Dip, Japan has Yan Yan by Meiji! You get a tub with biscuit sticks that you dip into a flavoured cream (similar consistency to Nutella).  This version comes with two different flavour 'dips' - chocolate and banana!

Another biscuit based snack we picked up was this White Cookie flavour Pepero by Lotte. Similar to Pocky, this version has a white milky coating with crumbs of oreo style cookie. These are really nice!

We also got a bag of Iro Enpitsu Candy by Kanro.  These boiled sweets come individually wrapped and each is made to look like a little colouring pencil! The sweets are clear with a strand of colour to match the flavour running through them like the lead of a pencil!  The flavours are soda (ramune), grape, strawberry, peach, orange, muscat (green grape), melon soda and cola.

Finally we got these Taiwanese Mango Mochi by Yuki&Love. There's 12 little mochi, individually wrapped in this box - and they have a lovely mango smell and taste!  I'm looking forward to trying some other flavours by Yuki&Love!

If you live near a Chinese supermarket, it's the easiest way to try all sorts of snacks that you won't find anywhere else (and a lot cheaper than from online sellers too!).

Vinylmation Collection - Beauty and the Beast

If you are a regular reader of the blog you might have spotted the Vinylmation Collection post I wrote for the Designer Series we picked up in Disneyland Paris, well the other series we spotted was a Beauty and the Beast series:

This is the second series for Beauty and the Beast and here are the designs that are available:

From top left we have Beast, Belle, Chip, Lumiere, Wardrobe, Cogsworth, Gaston and a mystery figure. I'm a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast so didn't mind which figure we got, and here is who we got!

We got Cogsworth! It's Cogsworth as a man rather than the clock but still a cute figure! The detail is awesome, you can see his clock hand mustache on the front and his hair tied at the back:

These are really cute figures and theres lots of collections available out there for all sorts of fandoms! With the release of the live action film tomorrow I just had to grab one from the Beauty and the Beast collection! I have been dying to see the new film and have watched all of the trailers which have gotten me really excited to see it! If you haven't managed to spot a trailer yet and want to see what all the fuss is about here's one for you to check out:

Catch you later Kawaiisters!

TKDK x New Era

As long-time readers will know, I love New Era caps and the Tokidoki x New Era designs are amongst my favourites.  I've recently picked up a couple of new snapbacks featuring Simone Legno's girls.

The first cap is a black and white design with flower outlines (and a cameo by Adios!).

The under bill on this snapback is probably my absolute favourite:

I love the kaiten-zushi resaurant design - it's a nice colourful pop on an otherwise monochromatic cap.

The other cap features a TKDK girl as a Onna-bugeisha, surrounded by cranes and chrysanthemums.

The under bill of this cap features a black, white and yellow design - the yellow ties in nicely with the New Era flag stitching on this cap.

Of course, both feature the TKDK heart and crossbones logo on the back to finish the look:

I'm really pleased to add these TKDK caps to my New Era collection!

Gudetama x Godzilla

Last year the laziest egg in the world collaborated with the Kaiju world of Godzilla!  Knowing I'm a gudetama kinda guy, Pinkuiro Pixie tracked me down an awesome acrylic keyring of this collab for my decora 3DS case!

The keyring features Mechagodzilla and Gudetama - I love how quirky it is!

The range also includes plushes, phone/tablet cases and charms - there's lots of different kaiju too; Godzilla (of course) but also Mothra and King Ghidorah! It's a really unusual and fun collaboration!

Disneyland Paris - Star Wars haul!

When we were in Disneyland Paris last year there was quite a lot of Star Wars merchandise available. Well, we love Star Wars, so it was inevitable we'd pick up a few pieces to display in our home!

First up were some Star Tours figures - these feature various Disney characters dressed up as all sorts of people from the Star Wars universe!  Stitch is one of my all-time favourite Kawaii characters, so I made sure to get the two different Stitch figures that were available.  First is Stitch as Master Yoda from Series 2 of the figures:

Then, from Series 5, Stitch as my favourite character from Revenge of the Sith - General Grievous!

He's even got four lightsabers like the General - he also comes with alternate arms so you can have four- or two-armed Stitch.

A cool facility in one of the shops in the Disney Village was the Droid Factory - here you could pick and mix parts to create your very own Astromech Droid.  There were various colours and you were even able to choose a Disney themepark accessory for your Droid (like a Goofy hat).  We decided to make a Droid to mark our 10th wedding anniversary - meet R5-G10 ^^

We chose parts that were white, red and black - these were the theme colours for our wedding ^^ Of course, for accessory we had to choose the classic Mickey ears:

It was really fun picking the parts to make our droid, check it out if you visit the Disney Village!  For aspiring Jedi (or Sith if you are cool), they also had make-your-own lightsabers available!

I spotted a cool all-over print design Star Wars shirt in the same shop:

The print features Star Destroyers, Y-Wings, TIE fighters and (of course) the Millennium Falcon! Check out the close up:

I'm looking forward to wearing this while I'm commanding my Imperial fleet in Star Wars Armada!

Johnny Cupcakes x Sanrio

One of my favourite designers is Boston's Johnny Cupcakes - I love the cool and cute designs he does and was excited when I heard about the third collaboration with Sanrio that was released in late 2016.

Pinkuiro Pixie saw that one of the designs featured my favourite Sanrio character, Badtz-Maru, and picked me up this Kawaii shirt:

Badtz-Maru is being his usual mischievous self!

On the back there's the collaboration logo that features Hello Kitty, Keroppi and Badtz-Maru:

I love the shirt, it's fun, cool and Kawaii without being over the top.

There's a few designs in this third collaboration - there are t-shirts, a hoodie, stickers and more.  Check them out at Johnny Cupcakes' online store!
