Senbon Zakura Hatsune Miku

You might have seen my post about Hachune Miku - well, there's another variant of Miku that has been made into differnt types of merchandise.  This version of Hatsune Miku is from the video for the song 'Senbon Zakura' (officially known in english as Thousand Cherry Tree) and depicts Miku wearing a military uniform. Here's the video that introduced this version of Miku to the world:

The Senbon Zakura Miku has been featured on lots of different items of merchandise, and we won a couple of pieces from UFO Catchers in Taito Stations.  Here's a super Kawaii figure of Miku:

It's different to a lot of Miku merchandise, but she's still so cute!! ^^

We also won this plush charm version:

I particularly love the Sakura pattern on her sleeve, it's a really cute detail!

You can also find Senbon Zakura merchandise with other vocaloids too, so keep a look out if you want something a little bit different from the usual vocaloid items!

A spot of holiday shopping ^^

Yesterday we popped into Birmingham City Centre to do a spot of shopping as we thought it would be a good time to start buying all the little bits we need for our trip to Japan. Although it's still three months till we go, we have taken full advantage of the normal summer holiday deals on things like toiletries and luggage! It's the first bit of shopping we have done in a while as we have been saving extremely hard for our spending money, but we did allow ourselves buy the odd treat ^^.

While we were in the Bull Ring Shopping Centre we popped into the Disney Store, where I picked up a few more Tsum Tsums for my collection!

The store had just gotten in the Frozen range of Tsum Tsums, so I just had to pick them all up! They are so SUPER KAWAII!!!!! ^^ I love Elsa's dress! so cute! If you read my earlier post on Tsum Tsums you will know that by buying Tsum Tsums from the Disney Store you can collect stamps, which you can build up to get silver and gold badges. Well this collection pushed my stamps over the silver badge level and I got given my stamp!! Squeeee and it's so cute! You can see above that its got the Tsum Tsum logo on it and is decorated with sparkling silver!

While we were shopping, we popped into TK Maxx and I found a new spangly pair of trainers! If you're a regular reader you will know that I LOVE TRAINERS and after finding nothing suitable in the ladies range, I checked out the kids range! BINGO!

Here are my brand spanking new black and pink DC High Tops! I spotted these on the very top shelf and they're a perfect fit! Whoop Whoop for having small feet! These only cost me £14.99 which is another plus to having small child sized feet! ^^ These are going straight in my suitcase as soon as I have broken them in at home!

Mr wasn't left out on our shopping trip! It's been a while since we have been into New Era in Birmingham so I suggested we nipped inside. After a snoop round I found a cap that I knew Mr would love!

We LOVE Guardians of the Galaxy and I had to grab this Guardians cap as soon as I saw it! It has a pixelated Milano Ship stitched on the front ^^ and on the side, Guardians of the Galaxy:

I can officially say, Mr LOVES IT! And it will take pride of place amongst his other New Era Caps!

Well that's all for this shopping trip! Hyper Japan is in two weeks time and I can't wait! If you're going don't forget to say hi!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^

Kawaii Countdown - Final Fantasy - Kawaii Creatures!

This is the final Kawaii Countdown special to celebrate the announcement of the Final Fantasy VII remake.  This time, I'll be counting down the most Kawaii monsters and summons from the Final Fantasy series!

First up, the monsters...

5 - Gimme Cat

The Gimme Cat appears in Final Fantasy IX and is a very strange enemy - when you meet it, it demands a Diamond from you!  If you give it one, the ungrateful Cat just leaves, but if you don't (or you try to fight it) the meanie will call down a comet onto your heroes! ><

4 - Mandragora

Mandragora are a plant-type creature that have been in many Final Fantasy games, but they are most Kawaii in Final Fantasy XI and XII. These little guys even have a Royal Family!

3 - Mu

Mu can be found in lots of different Final Fantasy games.  They aren't very strong or scary, but they are super cute!

2 - Tonberry

These creatures first appeared in Final Fantasy V, they might be cute but they are really dangerous! Watch out for Tonberrys!

1 - Cactuar

The Cactuar also appear in lots of Final Fantasy games, they are super speedy and attack using a special move '1000 needles'.

One of the coolest features of the Final Fantasy series are the 'summons'.  These are powerful creatures that you can summon to help your characters fight bosses or other tough enemies.  Of course, there are Kawaii summons and here are my favourites!

5 - Moomba

The furry Moomba is a special summon from Final Fantasy VIII but you need a special 'Friendship' item that you can only get using a Pocket Station (which was only released in Japan >< ).

4 - Shiva

One of the longest running summons, Shiva first appeared in Final Fantasy III.  Her most famous move is called Diamond Dust.

3 - The Magus Sisters

A hidden summon from Final Fantasy X, the Magus Sisters are Sindy, Sandy and Mindy.  They wear outfits inspired by different insects.

2 - Carbuncle

Carbuncle is a fairy type summon that helps protect your characters in Final Fantasy VIII using a special power called Ruby Light.

1 - Choco/Mog

Yes, it's the impossibly Kawaii summon - Choco/Mog!! A super cute Moogle rides a cute Chocobo into battle and crashes into your enemies!

Here's a video by youtube user LetsPlayGGs of Choco/Mog:

I hope you have enjoyed my special Final Fantasy Kawaii Countdowns!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^

Kawaii Countdown - Final Fantasy - the gals!

Here's the second part of my Kawaii Countdown specials to celebrate the Final Fantasy VII remake - this time it's the coolest and most Kawaii gals from the history of Final Fantasy!

10 - Fran

From Final Fantasy XII, Fran is a Viera, a species of tall human-like creatures with Kawaii rabbit ears! ^^

9 - Selphie Tilmitt

Selphie appeared in Final Fantasy VIII.  She's a super friendly and energetic person, but she's a bit clumsy!

8 - Aerith Gainsborough

Aerith, also known as Flower Girl, is involved in the most touching scene in all of Final Fantasy VII (and all other Final Fantasy games!).

7 - Eiko Carol

Eiko is a summoner girl from Final Fantasy IX with super Kawaii blue hair!

6 - Yuna

Yuna is the main female character of Final Fantasy X and was so popular she became the main character in Final Fantasy X-2!

5 - Rydia of Mist

Rydia is one of the main characters of Final Fantasy IV and like Eiko she is a summoner.

4 - Yuffie Kisaragi

Yuffie is a ninja and a thief that you can meet in Final Fantasy VII - if you meet her, she steals some of your things before she'll join your heroes!

3 - Rikku

Rikku is Yuna's cousin and, like her, features in Final Fantasy X and X-2.  In Final Fantasy X-2 she even dresses up as Cait Sith for the 'Mascot' dressphere!

2 - Tifa Lockhart

Tifa is one of the heroines of Final Fantasy VII and she's a kick-ass martial artist!

1 - Lulu

One of Yuna's friends (and protectors) from Final Fantasy X, Lulu wears a skirt made of belts and carries different plushes to fight with!  She's awesome and my favourite Final Fantasy charater of all time!

There's one character though that isn't a male or a female, so a special mention has to go out to....

Quina Quen!

Quina is a species known as Qu and it loves to eat frogs! In Final Fantasy IX, you can play a special frog catching minigame with Quina!

Come back soon for the last special Kawaii Countdown Final Fantasy post!

Final Fantasy is a series of video games first released in 1987 and has sold over 110 million games worldwide! Many of the characters feature in the super popular Kingdom Hearts game series too.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you can't have missed the huge gaming news announced at E3 - Final Fantasy VII is getting a remake!! Yes, Mr's favourite ever game is coming back and he's super excited about it!!

To celebrate this announcement, I'll be doing some special Final Fantasy Kawaii Countdowns of the most kawaii and cool characters from the history of the games!

9 - Edge Geraldine

Edge is a hot-headed ninja from Final Fantasy IV who specialises in Ninjutsu skills.

8 - Barrett Wallace

Barrett is the leader of a group of eco-activists called AVALANCHE.  He's one of the dudes from Final Fantasy VII.

7 - Edward Chris von Muir

Edward, who appeared in Final Fantasy IV, is a bard who uses his musical talent to help the heroes.  He is probably most famous for being called a 'spoony bard' by another character!

6 - Red XIII

Another character from Final Fantasy VII, Red XIII is a courageous and honourable warrior who fights to save the planet!

5 - Cloud Strife

Probably the most famous Final Fantasy dude, Cloud is the main character of Final Fantasy VII.  In the game there is a mini-game where Cloud goes snowboarding!

Wakka appeared in Final Fantasy X and he's a Blitzball player who fights by throwing his blitzball at his enemies!

3 - Vivi Ornitier

Vivi is the most Kawaii Black Mage in all of Final Fantasy history! He appeared in Final Fantasy IX.

2 - Cait Sith

The 'Cait Sith' character has appeared in different ways throughout the history of Final Fantasy, but he is most Kawaii in Final Fantasy VII where he takes the form of a black cat that rides a giant stuffed toy! ^^

Tidus, the main character of Final Fantasy X, is my all-time favourite Final Fantasy dude!

Come back soon for more Final Fantasy Kawaii Countdowns! ^^

Kawaii Collection - THE IDOLM@STER

You might have heard of the multi-media franchise THE IDOLM@STER - the series started as an arcade game in 2005 but has also been released on home consoles and mobile phones and has also become an anime, manga and audio dramas.  The franchise is based around idols and features lots of super kawaii characters!

Of course, where there are Kawaii characters, there's gonna be lots of Kawaii merchandise!! You can get all sorts of figures, plushes, badges, clothing and more featuring THE IDOLM@STER branding and characters.  When we were in Tokyo last year we saw some super Kawaii chibi-style IDOLM@STER figures in UFO Catchers - well, with perseverance and scouring different Game Centers, we managed to get most of two figure ranges (with Mr tracking down a missing one for my Christmas stocking! <3)

The first collection we completed is themed around the Ai LIKE Hamburger outfits - the range featured three idols dressed as 50s roller skating waitresses at an American Diner!

Aren't the uniforms super Kawaii?! The detail on these chibi figures is amazing - from the badges on the idols uniforms, to the fillings in the burgers and even Akizuki Ritsuko's glasses have lenses in them!

The second collection we completed features three idols in the Princess Melody outfit design:

Again, the attention to detail is amazing! Check out the diamond shaped pattern on the Idols' tops!

There's lots of super Kawaii IDOLM@STER merchandise out there, so check it out!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^

Countdown to Hyper Japan 2015 ^^

It's now less than a month till this summer's Hyper Japan event which promises and looks like it's going to be bigger and better than ever!

Hyper Japan is a two and a half day event that will take place from 10th till 12th July and is being held at The O2 in London! The event showcases all aspects of Japanese culture; from fashion and food, to music and anime!

Mr and I attended the event last year and had an awesome time! We bought lots of super Kawaii goodies and met lots of lovely Kawaii people! This year my niece is coming with us and we're hoping to have an even better time at the new venue.

This year's event has a few more areas available, with lots going on. We have been keeping our eyes on the announcements so we could decide which was the best day to go. Unfortunately we will only be popping down for a day this year due to our holiday, but with our holiday being to Japan we don't mind ^^

We have bought tickets for the Saturday as it's normally the more eventful day (and to give us time to recover on the Sunday). We already have a few things picked out that we want to visit and see when we go, top of our list is Dempagumi.inc!!!

I have posted about Dempagumi.inc several times and we love their super Kawaiiness! So when we saw that they will be performing we knew that we just have to make sure we catch them! They will be appearing in the HYPER Live area which features music and entertainment. We also plan on catching Heisei Kotohime who have also appeared on my blog!

I'm super excited to see these two super Kawaii acts perform!! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

We also plan on catching the lovely May J. of J-Melo on NHK World! She's so lovely and will hopefully be performing "Let it go" from the Disney Film Frozen as she sang the end credits version on the Japanese release of Frozen!

The event organisers have said there is also going to be a Meet and Greet with performers, so we are waiting to see the timetables and fingers crossed we can meet one or two of the acts we can't wait to see!

So that's the HYPER Live area! Next we will be checking out the HYPER Game and Anime Park where Nintendo will be showcasing their biggest event space ever, where you can demo and purchase their newly released games for the Wii U and 3DS (we do love our 3DSs) ^^. Hopefully we will also pick up tonnes of Street Passes as well!!

We will be swinging by the HYPER Fringe Market as I managed to pick up a few super Kawaii pieces last year from people like Kensuke of Broken Doll! This area is full of niche sellers and artists so it's always worth checking out what's on offer!

There is a J Culture area where you can find the more traditional side of Japan such as clothing and food, but it's also where you can find the Technology area, where there will be robots and vocaloids! This is definitely on our to visit list!

For lunch we will be stopping by the EAT JAPAN area as I'm going to try as much as I can before we head back in September! Nom Nom!

And the area I can't WAIT to visit, HYPER KAWAII!!!!

I LOVE THIS AREA!!! It's full of Kawaii sellers of all things Kawaii! Here is where I spent most of my money last year. You will find all sorts of fashions being sold here as well as make up, wigs and more! A few sellers I love have already announced that they will be there and some will be launching their new ranges as well so hopefully I will have lots to show and report on after the event!

Mr is especially excited to try the Tofu Cute x HYPER JAPAN Candy Festival where you will be able to buy 'Tofukens' and trade them in for custom selections of candy!!

This is going to be a great way to try new and exciting flavours and sweets without having to buy a whole packet first, although I'm sure Mr will buy normal sized packets of the sweets he ends up liking! ^^

I'm still not sure what I will be wearing for the day, but it will definitely be Decora! ^^ I can't wait to see all the different fashions and cosplayers and do a spot of shopping. I'm also looking forward to what my niece thinks of the event, hopefully she will enjoy it as much as me!

Are you going to Hyper Japan 2015? What are you looking forward to seeing? If you see me there make sure you say Hello!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^

Disney Tsum Tsums ^^

Many of you will already know about the super Kawaii Disney Tsum Tsum range that was first launched in Japan in 2013, but having spoken to some non Kawaii enthusiasts I know, they don't appear to be as well known outside the Kawaii movement as I thought! So, as my blog is about informing all about the world of Kawaii, I thought it was time to do a post!

So, as I said, Tsum Tsums were first launched in Japan in 2013, then sold in America in 2014, and this year hit the UK shores! "Tsum Tsum" comes from the Japanese verb Tsumu, which means "to stack" and thats exactly what you do with these super adorable plushies!

The plushies were launched on the back of a super Kawaii Disney phone game also called Tsum Tsums, so to start, here's some information about the game.

It's available on a platform called Line Games and in order to play the games you need an account on the very popular Line messaging app used across Japan! Once you have your account, you can start playing! Here is a quick video showing you the game:

As you can see, the game is based on joining up three or more of the same character in order to pop them and gain points. The game allows you to build up coins that you can then use to purchase boxes, the happiness box contains character Tsum Tsums such as Minnie and Mickey Mouse and the other more expensive box contains more premium characters such as Ariel or Belle.

Each character has a special ability that you can use while playing. The game is highly addictive and makes you want to collect as many of the characters as you can, just like the plushies! ^^

So, thats the game! Now onto the other Tsum Tsum itsms you can get! ^^
I got my first Tsum Tsum from Mr as a Christmas present, and it all started with my favourite Disney character, Minnie Mouse.

With saving for our holiday, I have tried to restrain myself from getting too crazy collecting before our trip, but I soon bought Minnie a friend:

One of the best things about Tsum Tsums is that the small ones are only £3 so you can pick up the odd one for your collection as and when you can. I haven't built up a huge collection but have enough to stack! Here are the small ones I have so far:

As well as Minnie and Mickey Mouse, I have Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Stitch, Pluto, Dumbo, Chip and Dale and Thumper and Miss Bunny ^^ Aren't they just SUPER KAWAII!! <3 Mr ordered Minnie from Japan and the rest I bought from my local Disney Store in Birmingham! I'm super lucky to have one so near by! ^^ In fact, if you buy your Tsum Tsums from the Disney Store you get a collectors card where you receive stamps for each Tsum you buy.

The stamps can get you two Limited Edition Pins, one when you've collected 25 and the other when you've collected 50! The Disney Store also releases a special collection on the first Tuesday of each month that sell out super quick so keep your eyes pealed so you don't miss them!

There are three sizes of Tsum Tsums, the small ones above, a middle sized which is £10 and a large range which is £20. So far we have bought two middle sized ones to Kawaii up our living room, and they just had to be our favourites, Minnie and Donald!

So you can see the size difference, here is our collection all together:

The Kawaiiness doesn't stop there! You can also grab other Kawaii items decorated with the super cute plushies! Here is a bag I picked up from the Disney Store last week:

It's a cross body bag, covered in Tsum Tsums and has a super Kawaii Minnie Mouse purse attached to the front! This was only £15 which is a bargain for such a cute bag! I think this is definitely being packed for our holiday! ^^

On 29th May 2015, Disney collaborated with Uniqlo in Japan and released 8 special tops that would be sold with a limited edition Tsum Tsum wearing a red hat! Here is a super cute video they did showing the new range:

In case you missed it, here is the range they made available, only in Japan ><

Why is all the awesome stuff only in Japan!? Seeing my reaction, Mr secretly got on the case and then....a parcel arrived this morning! And guess what was in it?????

Mr managed to get me the Limited Edition Minnie Mouse top with Minnie Mouse Tsum Tsum! And how super Kawaii are they both!!!! ^^ Here is a close up of Minnie and her red beret:

How SUPER KAWAII!!!!!!!! <3

Seeing what is available in Japan has gotten me super hyped about which ones I will be able to collect on my holiday! I can't wait to hit up Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea!!

So Kawaiisters, do you collect Tsum Tsums? Which one's your favourite? and do you play the game? I'd love to hear about your collections!

Catch you all later! ^^
