Anime - Angelic Layer

Angelic Layer is an anime adaptation of the CLAMP manga of the same name.  It is set in the same universe as Chobits and tackles similar issues about the relationship between people and machines.

The series follows Misaki Suzuhara, a junior high school student who becomes interested in, and takes up, a game called Angelic Layer.  Angelic Layer is played by people controlling customised robotic 'Angels' with their minds in action-packed battles.  The game is so popular it is even televised!

Misaki gets an Angel and names it 'Hikaru'.  Hikaru has pink hair and wears a red and white outfit with two long ribbon like wires. Hikaru is smaller than most Angels and was made by Misaki to show everyone that there is nothing wrong with being small! ^^

The series features lots of other Angels, like this one called Wizard:

His blue clothing, hair and accessories is a cute contrast to Hikaru's red and pink ^^

Another Angel, Blanche, is nicknamed the White Angel and has an outfit styled after a nurse's uniform.  She's so Kawaii!

Here's the opening theme for Angelic Layer, so you can get a taste of the action!

For the biggest fans of Angelic Layer, you can still find the odd figure available online.  I'm lucky enough to have one of Hikaru being cheered on by Misaki:

As you can see, Hikaru is in a chibi style here - doesn't she look super Kawaii!! ^^

Artist Review - Brogan Coral

Last weekend Mr and I attended the MCM Midlands Comic Con in Telford and met a super Kawaii illustrator called Brogan Coral ^^ I didn't mention this in my post last weekend as I have been so impressed with her work that I felt she deserved a dedicated post just to show off what she can do!

Brogan Coral is an illustrator who describes her work as "very feminine, decorative, and based on Art Nouveau ideology, though do vary my style depending on what I’m setting out to do." All MCM events have a Comic Village where you can find new inspiring illustrators, selling their work. This is where we spotted Brogan Coral! Her stall was super cute and just leapt out at a Kawaii lover like me! ^^ She had some of her work out on show which just drew me in and after having a closer peek, I knew I had to grab some of her work! It's beautiful and super Kawaii! And I'm super happy I did since I came home and found some of the ones I bought are discontinued and only available till they run out!

First I came across her large A3 prints/posters, she had several on display and a folder available to look through. Here is what we picked out!

First, I just had to get her Pastel Goth Demon, this was what drew my eye to begin with:

I just loved the colours and with it being in my favourite colours I knew I couldn't leave without it! Then we spotted her folder that had more in and started to look through it, here's the other super Kawaii A3 posters/prints we picked out:

This is her Blue Knight print. I love imagery of strong women and just had to get this! It was also available in pink, but I opted for the blue for a bit of a change. Being a GoT Fan it reminded me of Brienne of Tarth! I think shes awesome! So this came home with us too!

Next we picked out this awesome Princess Peach print!

How super Kawaii is this!!!! If you're a regular reader you will know that Mr and I are big gamers and love Nintendo so this was an awesome find! Can't wait to put this one up!

The last A3 print we bought was this super Kawaii Sweet Lolita Faun:

How stunning is this! I think this is a beautiful print and will take pride of place in our bedroom! I love the colours and the imagery! This is so super Kawaii! The picture is of super high quailty and the colours are so vibrant! So thats the A3 prints that we bought. They were so reasonably priced as well at £5 a print or 2 for £8! To be honest, I definitely would have paid more!!

Next we looked at her mini prints! These, again, were a crazy price at just £1 a print and are as high quality as the large prints! Here's what we got:

The print on the left is Isabelle from Animal Crossing running through her town with the town hall in the background! As a big lover of Animal Crossing I just had to get this! The print on the right is the awesomely Kawaii Sailor Moon! Again, I just love Sailor Moon and loved this version of her!

Next we got these two gems!

Yes, gamer fans! This is Capcom X Pokémon! <3 The print on the left is the Queen of the Arcade: Chun Li with Medicham and Meditite <3 I love this print! The print on the right is the awesomely gothic Morrigan with Woobat and Swoobat. These two are awesome and will take pride of place in our Geek Room! (where all our gaming is! ^^)

Now that's not all! I also picked up this super cute mini Cat Comic!

This mini comic is all about two cats Brogan Coral has adopted recently and details what she has learned about having cats!

It's super cute and a she even signed it for me:

Thank you Brogan Coral!! When she hits the big time I can look back at this mini comic and say "I met her at Comic Con ^^!"

We also picked up these badges, as I like to use badges to Kawaii and Decora up bags etc:

You might recognise the one on the right as being the Sweet Lolita Faun! The one on the left is of course a game boy!! Super Kawaii Gaming for the win!! We even got this Sparkly Bookmark for free:

So that's our haul from Brogan Coral! I'm so glad we found her stall! I highly recommend to any Comic Con goers to make sure you check out the Comic Villages as you can find super Kawaii people like this! All of her prints are of a super high quality, with really popping colours! I highly recommend you check her store out! You can also check out her Tumblr for information on new designs and future cons!

Heisei Kotohime - Otome Kakumei

Here's an idol group you might not have heard about - Heisei Kotohime!

Heisei Kotohime are famous for wearing kimono during their performances and as well as singing and dancing (like all idols ^^) they also play a modern version of a traditional Japanese instrument, the Koto.

Here's the video for their latest single, Otome Kakumei!

MCM Midlands Comic Con - 2015 ^^

Mr and I celebrated Valentine's Day by attending MCM Midlands Comic Con in Telford and it was an awesome event! We were plesantly surprised by how big the event turned out to be with it being so close to Birmingham, as Birmingham has its own MCM events! The event was probably on par to the size of MCM Manchester but spread over two large halls. This meant everything was nicely spread out and you weren't struggling to work your way around the stalls! I couldn't wait to start taking pics and started off with a close encounter with a Jawa! There was a whole crew walking round the queues outside and one got very VERY close!

This Jawa walked over and stared right into my camera lens while another investigated my Hello Kitty backpack! I can't help but find Jawas cute! ^^

As we got into the entrance, you can see how large the hall was and there were two of them!

There was lots of stalls all nicely spread out:

As you can see, we were near the front of the queue to get in! We had priority tickets which I would always recommend getting as you can get a good walk around before the halls get too busy.

After scouting some of the first hall I came across this awesome couple dressed as Bat Girl and Nightwing:

Their outfits were so well done! Loved it! ^^ Next I came across this super Kawaii lady wearing a Super Kawaii outfit:

I loved her tights! Her outfit was so cute! I just had to get a snap of her to show you all! ^^ Next I came across this cute couple of ladies:

I seem to find Totoro fans at every event I go to and it's awesome to see the different interpretations of Totoro! This was super Kawaii! Then I came across this awesome cosplay:

It's Delphox! How awesome and Kawaii is this!! I then bumped into this Pokémon cosplayer:

It's Pumpkaboo!! I knew this lady was attending and was so happy to have gotten a pic of her!! Super Kawaii!! ^^

And to carry on the Pokémon theme, here's Korrina from the Shalour City Gym with Maylene from Veilstone City Gym! (and yes behind them is the Penguin doing a spot of shopping!)

I then bumped into Cruella de Vil! How awesome is this cosplay! (And behind her is an Umbrella Corp soldier checking out a stall!)

Then I bumped into Katniss Evergreen and Marty McFly!

Then I ran down this awesome cosplayer! It's Lulu from Final Fantasy X - one of my favourite characters!

Carrying on the Kawaii theme, here's Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service! ^^

Super Kawaii!! Love the bow ^^ <3 After seeing Kiki I spotted these super cuties by the cosplaying registration area!

From left to right we have Hatsune Miku, Mami Tomoe who is Noa Cosplay in the middle, and Madoka Kaname who is Tarka Cosplay on the end! After looking Noa and Tarka up I found out they are the 2015 United Kingdom Representatives for World Cosplay Summit!! How awesome and Kawaii!! ^^

After this I bumped into these 3 lovely ladies:

You may recognise the lady in middle as she is cosplaying as Lumpy Space Princess ^^

I also bumped into a Lolita! Super Kawaii ^^

There was a special Midlands based Graffiti Artist at the Con called Kid30 from Smallkid Design who was there to create special Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle art! How awesome is this:

There was also a wall for visitors to contribute to with merchandise up for grabs:

And we all know, where's there's Turtles there's a Shredder!

Another awesome cosplay I found was this Aoba Seragaki from DRAMAtical Murder!

So that's my people pics! Weren't they awesome!! I have to admit, the more I attend Con's the more I want to cosplay! Maybe I'll have to get my thinking cap on! ^^

As well as taking pics, Mr and I scouted the stalls. We didn't take a lot of money with saving for Japan but we had a small list of things to look out for. With our growing love of Funko Figures we wanted to get the Vocaloid collection.....and we managed to get them!

Here's Len, Rin, Hatsune Miku and Luka!! So super happy we found these!! Then we found these super Kawaii Tokidoki figures on the Forbidden Planet stall:

Here's Bruttino, Truffle and Polpettina:

KAWAIIIIIIII!!!!! ^^ And here's Adios and Sabochan:

Super Kawaii additions to our growing collection! ^^ I also got this Donutella plush and Final Fantasy Chocobo hand towel! If you have seen my Keeping cool and Kawaii post you will know how useful these are in Japan so this is going stratight in my suitcase! ^^

Walking past the Tofu Cute stand I spotted this super cute mini plush:

She's called Rosy Wooly! How cute is she! She wears a bow in her hair just like me! ^^ I also picked up this super cute tshirt from a stall called Oh Japan!

It's covered in super Kawaii pandas and has the word Kawaii across the middle in Japanese! How cute!!! ^^ This is an awesome quality top, they had so many designs available at the con:

I will definitely be popping by their stall at future cons! ^^ Mr picked up these super cute Pokémon magnets with our first (and favourite) starters in! They didn't have a Turtwig on the stall so they made one for us there and then! How awesome! ^^

And Mr got this awesome pizel art style card game that we can't wait to try out:

So that's our lot! We had an awesome day, got some awesome and Kawaii bits and took lots of super cute pics! I recommend this event to anyone who liked this post! We will definietly be back next year! EM-Con next! I'm off now before Darth Vader gets me too!

Neon Star has hit the UK! ^^

So back in November I blogged about a new range that Tokidoki were releasing in the US that would be exclusively available in Claires Accessories, this range was called Neon Star!

This week, Neon Star was launched across Europe! (Squeeeeeeeeeeee) I have to admit, I thought it would take longer to reach here but Tokidoki and Claire's have answered our Kawaii calls!! As soon as I saw the announcement on Claire's Facebook I just had to check the range out and I'm so glad I did as the whole range is an online exclusive! Seeing that this was exclusively online, I was worried they would run out so had to place my order there and then.......and today IT ARRIVED!!!! (Squeeeeeee) ^^

So this is my haul! I got a bit click happy but bought everything I didn't want to miss out on! ^^

The first item I've got to show you is this super Kawaii draw string bag:

I'm super impressed with the quality of this as draw string bags can lack quality. But it's super Kawaii and covered in Tokidoki characters including the Neon Star owls! The bag is fully lined with pretty pink material and will keep me super Kawaii at the gym! The front zip pocket has Candy the owl on it which is very fitting with the normal Tokidoki style!

The next item I got was the Tokidoki cap:

It fits my head with room to spare and I have an adult sized head and thick hair! The cap is a cute grey covered in our favourite Tokidoki characters with Nerdy the owl on the front! I think she's super cute as she has glasses just like me! I mean they look just like that! ^^ The peak is purple on the top and black on the underside. I can't wait for summer to come to wear this baby! ^^

Next I got this pack of adjustable rings:

There's five rings in the pack, one with Donutella, one with the Neon Star logo, one a heart of Tokidoki print, one with a rainbow coloured LOVE on it and one with Fancy the owl on it! How Kawaii are these!!

Next I got the netted Donutella beanie!

The beanie is black with the word LOVE embroided on it, with Donutella peeping over the turn up with hearts coming out of her! This is super Kawaii and the net on it is awesome! An inspired piece that I love!

Next I got the Donutella coin purse:

The purse is black with a large glittery pink star on the front, with Donutella and Ciambello! She's handing him a donut which just adorable! He loves the donut so much he has hearts coming out of him! KAWAIIII!!! ^^

Next I got the cross body bag:

This is super Kawaii and covered in Tokidoki characters! It also features two badges, one of the Neon Star logo and one of Riffy! This is a good quality bag and will be awesome at Cons! The stitching on the strap is even multi coloured which again is a sign of the normal Tokidoki style!

The last item I bought was the infinity scarf <3:

The pic does not do this justice! I am so impressed with the quality and brightness of this, it's gorgeous! It features loads of Tokidoki characters and is so BRIGHT! I think I'm in love with this scarf!! <3<3<3

Here's a pic of it as it should go around your neck:

Well that's my haul!! I'm super happy with everything I bought! It was so worth the wait! The quality of everything is so good, much better than some of the items you see in Claire's. To me, everything was also well worth the price, especially when you remind yourself; this is Tokidoki!! <3 It's a great way to add to anyone's collection or to start one! You can find the full range available to the UK on the Claire's site!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^
