Kawaii Snow in Tokyo! ^^

It's been trying to snow here in the West Midlands over the last few days (and in Tokyo from pics I've seen!). We've had a dusting of snow here and there, and it's made Mr and I look over some pics we took last year!

If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know that Mr and I went on holiday to Tokyo last February. While we were there Tokyo suffered the worst snow fall in 75 years and we have to admit, it was amazing to be there and experience it! We had been to Tokyo before but they were suffering a heat wave so it was a very different experience to being there with so much snow!

As well as it being amazing to see Tokyo sights in snow, it was also amazing to see how imaginative people were with it! I took lots of pics and narrowed down these to show you some of the super Kawaii sights of snow in Tokyo!!

Firstly I'm going to show you some of the various snowmen that appeared around the streets of Shinjuku and Harajuku!

These were the first snowmen we came across. They really caught our eye as they were on top of a building sign at the bottom of a skyscraper just down from our hotel! With it being the business disctrict you don't normally see sights like this, its normally lots of people in suits etc so this was super Kawaii to see! ^^

From here we hopped on the Yamanote to Harajuku! Now here we found lots of snowmen! This snowman was dressed up with a hat and scarf and some sun glasses!

This was a group of snowmen outside a shop on Cat Street! One has ears and the middle one has a top hat! How super Kawaii!!^^

Here's another quite round snowman that we found outside a hat shop in Harajuku! As you can see, he's also dressed up in a snazzy hat!

Here's another snowman we found outside an office building. He's got stick arms with gloves and has a snow ball all ready to throw!!

The snow lasted quite a few days so we managed to take some super kawaii snow pics in quite a few different places! One day we went up Tokyo Tower and it was awesome to see the snow from above! One of my favourite pics was this building I spotted which looks like it has the face of a storm trooper on it! What do you think?

Well that's what I see anyway ^^

It had snowed when we visited Tokyo Disneyland and we even found some super Kawaii snow sculptures made by visitors there!

Here's a Mickey Mouse snowman we found at the fountain in Toon Town! Super Kawaii!! ^^

And here is Donald and Daisy Duck having a smooch!! How super Kawaii is this!! ^^

Now if you are ever in Tokyo when it snows, make sure you visit Yoyogi Park!! It's right next to the station in Harajuku and packed full of creative and imaginative people, and the day we popped in was no exception! Here are some of the pics we took in the Park:

First, a humble little snowman, with a face made up of leaves ^^

Then there was this crazy snowman! With spikey hair and mouth! I loved his cheeky smile ^^

Then, hiding in the bushes we came across...........a wild Diglett!!

How Kawaiiiiiiii! ^^ I love Pokémon <3 And there was more Kawaiiness in the park!

Here's Kirby!! The super Kawaii Nintendo character! ^^ He was HUGE!!! I was in awe of this! So imaginative and so very well done!

We had the pleasure of watching this being made! It's a snowman sitting on a bench, wearing a hat, sunglasses, scarf and gloves. Holding a coffee and wearing headphones!!

Here is a giant llama!

And here is an igloo that was being built by quite a few people! They had a rubber mould to make snow bricks and were inviting people walking by to come and join in!

These were the creators of Kirby!! We didn't get to see the final look of it but they are in the middle of creating a Lapras!! Another Kawaii Pokémon! ^^

We managed to spot a few more mini snowmen too! Here's a Kawaii couple!

This one has little snow arms!

And here's my attempt, not the greatest but not bad considering my hands were frozen ><

The snow made for some beautiful photos of the park, here is one I took before we headed back for some warmth:

So that was the Kawaii snow in Tokyo!! I hope you enjoyed seeing these pics, and I hope that if you get snow wherever you are they inspire you to go out and make something Kawaii with it! ^^ I know I will if it ever sticks here!!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^

Happy 30th Birthday Tokyo Disneyland

If you checked out My Minnie Obsession post last week you will know that I am a HUGE Disney fan! So it won't surprise you that when Mr and I go to Tokyo, Tokyo Disneyland is always on the MUST VISIT list! Well when we visited Tokyo last year Tokyo Disneyland were celebrating their 30th Birthday (it was certainly a Kawaii year for anniversaries!) and we couldn't wait to see how Disney would celebrate it! We weren't disappointed, the whole of Disney was decorated with gold decorations and Mickey balloon symbols ^^

As soon as we walked into Disneyland we were all greeted by the Kawaii couple themselves, Minnie and Mickey Mouse! All dressed up in gorgeous gold outfits and posing for pictures!

How super Kawaii are their outfits!!! As you can imagine, with it being an anniversary year, Disney was packed full of fans wanting a pic with their favourite characters. The queues were huge for Minnie and Mickey, and as it was SOOOOO cold we had to abandon the queue and head indoors! But I was chuffed that I got these pics of them posing, and Minnie (my absolute favourite!) caught me trying to sneak a peek through the huge crowd and when I waved, she waved back!

 Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this made my day!

So we headed indoors, as Tokyo was experiencing its worst snow fall in 75 years, it was sooooo cold and everyone had the same idea and hit up the shops (where the heaters were!) ^^ I've blogged before about some of the items I bought from Disneyland, such as Minnie's Sweets range and the hoodies that were so popular on the Takeshita Dori! If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will have also found that I am a big Disney Pin collector! And I was over the moon to see they had released a special range of Pins celebrating the 30th Anniversary:

Here's the first pin I bought, it's got Minnie and Mickey Mouse, and Donald and Pluto on it, and the Mickey Mouse head balloons that were used as decorations throughout the park.

Here are the individual Minnie and Mickey pins, how Kawaii do they look in their anniversary outfits!

Here are the individual Daisy and Donald pins, Donald is a very popular character in Japan so I was happy to grab this before it ran out!

Here are the individual pins for Pluto, Goofy and Chip and Dale, who are also very popular in Japan!

Here was the last pin available in the collection. It has Minnie and Mickey Mouse, in their anniversary outfits, surrounded by the Mickey head balloons and the saying 'Happiness Goes On!' as 'Happiness is here' being the theme of the whole anniversary.

So after hitting up the shops, and regaining the feeling in our hands and feet, we braved the Main Square, where the famous Disney Castle is!

As we entered the square you could see that the square was decorated with banners on all of the lamp posts covered in the famouse Disney characters:

Heres one banner with the 30th symbol on and Mickey Head balloons!

Here is the banner featuring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck! Kawaii eh?!

Here is the banner featuring Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck! Super Kawaii Ladies!! <3

And here is the banner featuring Pluto, Goofy and Chip and Dale, all floating round on Mickey Head Balloons! ^^

After checking out the banners we headed for the Castle! If only we could all live in a place like this!
The Castle was decorated with Mickey Head balloons for the anniversary, and it looked super Kawaii!

The decorations trail all the way up the towers and looked so colourful and Kawaii! Here's the view as we entered the Castle!

Kawaii isn't it! After taking more than photos than I could count we had a walk around the park, visiting Downtown Disney where Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Chip and Dale live! And after visiting a few more shops and attractions, we scouted the perfect spot to sit and watch the parade! Now I knew this was going to be popular, but I had no idea that people would start sitting and waiting, 3 hours before it was due to run! Yes, I said 3 hours!! in the freezing cold, and most people were on the floor! We caught onto people scouting places to watch the parade, and were lucky enough to secure a seat rather than having to sit on the floor. So after the three hour wait, it started! Our plan was Mr would get a video and I took pics, lots and lots of pics! And I have to say a huge Thank You to Mr who managed to keep his hand completely still for the whole video! It cuts off at around 12 minutes, as Mr's phone died with the cold. But here it is, the Tokyo Disney 30th Anniversary Parade! ^^

We were very lucky to be sitting where the main float remained for most of the show! Here are some of the pics I got of the main anniversary float:

Here is Donald and Daisy Duck, sharing a cuddle! How KAWAII!!!!!

Here is a pic of the main part of the float, covered in Mickey Head balloons with Minnie and Mickey Mouse waving to the adoring crowds!

Heres Minnie and Mickey Mouse dancing to the anniversary theme tune 'Happiness is Here!'

One of my clearest pics, they were as excited about the parade as we were and just couldn't stand still! ^^

Now prepare yourself for Kawaii overload, *deep breath* get ready:

Donald and Daisy having a smooch!! How adorable is this!! <3<3<3<3<3

So that was the parade, I have lots more pics of the parade but I'd be here all day if I included them as I just can't pick the most Kawaii ones, cause they're all super Kawaii!! Instead, I'll show you some of my pics of the Castle once it started to get dark. We ummed and ahhed over whether to stay till it got dark as it was sooooo cold, I mean it was seriously freezing! But it was certainly worth it:

How beautiful is it! The decorations all lit up was a spectacular sight! Thousands stayed to see it and we all kept moving round trying to get the best pics we could. Here is a pic of it close up:

We love Disney and were so happy to be able to attend during an anniversary year. The decorations, characters, park staff and other visitors made it a super Kawaii experience! Can't wait to go again this year!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^
